Who are the owners of Paradores de España?
Paradores de España is a public company owned by the State Industrial Participations Company (SEPI), which in turn is a public business entity attached to the Ministry of Finance. Therefore, it is owned by the Spanish State.
Paradores de España is a network of historic hotels located in emblematic buildings, such as castles, monasteries, and palaces, distributed throughout Spain. It was founded in 1928 by King Alfonso XIII with the objective of promoting tourism in the country and encouraging the conservation of historical and cultural heritage.
The management of Paradores de España is entrusted to a subsidiary company of SEPI, called Paradores de Turismo de España S.A. This company is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and conservation of the hotels, as well as the tourist promotion of the network. In addition, it is committed to sustainability and social responsibility, and works to reduce its environmental impact and promote local development.
Currently, Paradores de España has more than 90 establishments throughout the country, from Galicia to Andalusia, passing through Madrid, Catalonia, and Valencia, among other regions. Each hotel has its own history and personality, but all offer a unique and authentic experience, combining cultural heritage, gastronomy, and nature.
